Great Plains Health opens sports and therapy clinic in Sutherland

North Platte, Neb., February 17, 2022 – Great Plains Health is excited to celebrate the opening of the Great Plains Health Sports and Therapy Center in Sutherland, Neb., an outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine clinic.

Media and the public are welcome to attend the ribbon cutting for the facility on Thursday, March 3 at noon with the Sutherland Chamber of Commerce. Light refreshments and informal tours will follow.

Joining two existing Great Plains Health Sports and Therapy Centers in North Platte, as well as a third location within the Callahan Cancer Center, the new clinic in Sutherland is located at 1120 Second St.

“At Great Plains Health, one of our strategic objectives is to grow services to exceed the region’s needs,” Ivan Mitchell, chief executive officer, said. “We are intentional about the new ways we serve patients and believe that access to quality care helps all of our community thrive. The clinic provides patients west of North Platte the opportunity to receive the high level of care they expect from Great Plains Health with less driving time.

“We are passionate about the care we provide to each our patients, whether they are recovering from surgery, regaining mobility after an athletic injury or healing in some other way,” Darrick Parker, PT, director of rehab at Great Plains Health, said. “The opening of this clinic expands our services and makes what we offer more accessible for some of our patients in the west. Opening this location is very exciting for us.”

The clinic provides treatment, pain management and rehabilitation services that help patients of all ages return to the highest level of function possible.

“The Sutherland Chamber of Commerce is absolutely ecstatic to have Great Plains Health Sports and Therapy join our community,” Kaye Monie, secretary of the chamber, said. “We have already heard so many wonderful comments about having the availability of physical therapy services within Sutherland. The surrounding communities will also benefit with this central location.”
