Behavioral Health Center

The Great Plains Health Behavioral Health Center features a nine-bed, newly-built inpatient treatment center and three outpatient programs. Our comprehensive services also include Great Plains Psychiatric Services, an outpatient clinic of North Platte Nebraska Physician Network. Our state-of-the-art facility offers highly-secured areas, a recreation center, dining area, gathering area and all private rooms.

As leaders in treating behavioral health illnesses, our goalis to provide the best and most confidential care possible for patients experiencing mental illness.

Our top floor location features breathtaking views of the South Platte River

Our multidisciplinary treatment team consists of psychiatrists, nurses, occupational therapists, recreational therapists, social workers, a licensed mental health practitioner and a dietitian.

A free assessment is available to determine if an individual meets the criteria for participation, and we can also determine the most appropriate program to fit the patient's needs. Contact us to set up an appointment; they are generally completed within 24 hours of the request.

Inpatient psychiatric unit

For patients 15 years of age and older with a physician’s admission order who may be:

  • Unsafe at home.
  • Dealing with a major crisis.
  • Experiencinga lack of judgment or impulse control.
  • Experiencing suicidal tendencies or disorganized thoughts.
