There are more than 100 volunteers who dedicate their time and talents in many different areas throughout the Great Plains Health system. Without them, we would not be as successful as we are in meeting patients' needs.

We offer more than 25 volunteer locations that provide flexible schedules for those who are searching for a meaningful volunteer opportunity within our health system. Whenever possible, we work to match individual interests and skills with volunteer assignments. Whether a person can volunteer just one afternoon a month or on a daily basis, we are always appreciative to have an extra caring volunteer to help meet the needs of our patients.

Without our volunteers, we would not be as successful as we are in meeting patients' needs.

Junior volunteer program

The JV Ambassador program at Great Plains Health is open to young adults aged 14 to 19 years old and still enrolled in high school or an equivalent. JV Ambassadors commit to volunteering for a 12-month term and serve a minimum of eight hours a month or a minimum of 100 hours a term. In addition, the JV Ambassador program encourages rotations within various departments every month. Through these rotations, our JV Ambassadors are exposed to many facets within the healthcare environment including clinical and nonclinical areas. Educational sessions designed to explore various departments and health specialties in-depth are provided during the summer months. These sessions give JV Ambassadors the opportunity to learn about healthcare job opportunities, department responsibilities, and procedures and specialized equipment.

If you are interested in becoming a JV ambassador, please fill out the junior volunteer application form.

Note: The JV Ambassador program is limited to 40 participants.
