You need emergency care. And the Great Plains Health 24-hour emergency room is your top choice for that lifesaving care.

A brand new, expanded emergency department opening in November 2019
Our team has access to state-of-the-art equipment, including an around-the-clock comprehensive diagnostic imaging program (complete with 64-slice CT and MRI) and a surgical intensive care unit.
North Platte's level III trauma center
As a certified level III trauma center, Great Plains Health offers the greatest depth and breadth of advanced specialties and emergency services in west central Nebraska.
Your cardiovascular care and stroke center choice
We are home to Nebraska's only Joint Commission-designated Primary Stroke Center. When a stroke strikes, minutes count. Getting care from a qualified team in a recognized Stroke Center means tapping into high-quality therapies, including medications, when you need them. That could make all the difference in terms of your stroke recovery.
We're also home to the only interventional Heart Institute west of Kearney. Whether you're dealing with heart attack symptoms or struggling with symptoms that you think might hint at an underlying heart issue, our team of expert cardiologists are here to help. And you'll get assessed quickly in our emergency room.
Care when you just can't wait
Making your visit quick, efficient and comfortable as possible is a top priority. On average, our patients see a doctor in less than 15 minutes from arrival. The average time from arrival to the emergency department to the time you discharge home is 110 minutes, which is lower than the national average.
