Visiting hours

General hospital visiting hours

We recognize that families and friends play a big part in the healing process, and we try our best to balance family-inspired healing with our patients' needs for plenty of rest during their recovery process.

General visiting hours are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.

From 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., visitors can access the hospital through the main entrance under the overhang at 601 W. Leota St. The main entrance locks at 6 p.m. Visitors will need to exit or enter through the ER entrance on the far west side of the hospital after 6 p.m., as well as have a state ID or driver’s license available.

Universal masking is recommended at all Great Plains Health facilities, although no longer required for patients, visitors and employees at the present time.

This decision comes after consideration of community transmission of COVID-19 in Lincoln County. Transmission is no longer at a high level (red) right now, and has been sustained for two weeks, according to the CDC’s COVID Data Tracker.

Should community transmission rise to a high level again, then required universal masking will be immediately reinstated. Any updates will be shared on this webpage, on social media and by staff at the Great Plains Health facilities that patients visit

Great Plains Health will continue to offer masks at all entrances for those who wish to wear one, or if required universal masking policy is reinstated.

Great Plains Health requires visitors to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms and refrain from visiting if they:

    • Have a positive test for COVD-19 in the last 10 days
    • Have a pending COVID-19 test
    • Have symptoms of COVID-19, including chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea.

We continue to implement vigorous policies and procedures to address COVID-19 and are following all governmental recommendations as well. If you have any questions about the visiting policy, please ask a member of the patient’s healthcare team.
