Sleep disorders

If it often takes you more than 30 minutes to fall asleep at night or you wake up frequently and have a hard time going back to sleep, you may have a "sleep debt" caused by sleep apnea—a serious, potentially life-threatening condition. If you feel you may be suffering from sleep debt, take our sleep quiz.

If your answers show you may have sleep apnea, talk to your physician. Your physician may order a polysomnogram (sleep study) to be performed at our Sleep Lab.

Sleep apnea

If you have any questions concerning sleep apnea or your sleep study, call Great Plains Health, at 308.568.7640 (Sleep Lab) or 308.568.8000, ext. 7455 (outpatient scheduling).

Insurance coverage

Most private insurance companies and Medicare and Medicaid reimburse for sleep studies and associated treatments. It is always a good idea to check with your insurance company before scheduling a sleep study, as it is your responsibility to obtain any preauthorization required by your insurance company.
