Family medicine

At Great Plains Health, our family medicine providers would be honored to care for you and your loved ones.

We provide quality family medicine services for people of all ages and life stages. From annual physicals to treatment for a chronic illness to a doctor who can deliver your baby, our team is here for you.

Family doctors who focus on you

Our board-certified family doctors and advanced practice providers take the time to know their patients and consider each patient a partner in his or her own healthcare. They are also very responsive when you have questions outside of a clinic visit. Many requests can be handled through our MyChart patient portal.

And because our Great Plains Family Medicine providers share an electronic health records system with our hospital, they have a full picture of your healthcare.

Our family practice services

Our family clinics offer a wide array of services, including:

Wellness care. We provide routine checkups, screenings and vaccinations for adults and children, as well as well-woman exams, Pap tests and more.

Same-day appointments. You won’t have to wait long to start feeling better when you or your children have a sore throat or another minor, sudden illness.

Ongoing management of chronic illnesses. Our providers can help you live your best with a long-term illness, such as diabetes or heart disease. If needed, they can refer you to other specialists at Great Plains Health.

Pregnancy and newborn care. Physicians from our North Platte family practice clinic will care for you and your little one throughout your pregnancy. Services include prenatal care visits, delivery and postpartum care, and your baby’s first checkups.

Department of transportation physicals. We perform DOT physical exams at our North Platte and Brady clinics.

Geriatric care, which focuses on the health of older adults. Many of our providers continue to provide care for their patients who have moved into nursing homes.

Family planning. Our birth control options include Nexplanon implants, Depo-Provera injections, and IUD insertion and removal.

Physician-ordered specialty services. The team at our North Platte office provides a number of specialty services, including allergy, testosterone, contraceptive and B-12 injections; INR (blood clot) checks; and tuberculosis tests.

Medical procedures. Our family medicine providers perform many office-based procedures. These include colposcopy (an exam to check for cervical cancer); joint injections; hemorrhoid treatment; wart, mole and skin tag removal; skin biopsies; wound suturing; simple casting; and osteopathic muscle manipulation (at our North Platte clinic), which is a treatment for pain. (Limited medical procedures are available at our clinics in Brady and Mullen. Please call ahead for details.)
