Temporary positions

With the continued increase of COVID-19 cases in our region, Great Plains Health is in need of clinical staff, such as RN, LPN and CNA, and non-clinical staff, such as technical assistants to help in a variety of units.

We are now hiring for the following temporary positions:

Registered nurse

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to assess data and plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients. Applicant must have a valid RN license for the state of Nebraska or be willing to apply for reinstatement of RN license through the Public Health Emergency program.

Licensed practical nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse, under the supervision of the Registered Nurse or designated supervisor is responsible for nursing care (within their scope of practice) in an assigned area. Must possess a current, valid LPN license in state of practice or temporary LPN license in state of practice.

Certified nursing assistant

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical record; provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department. Must possess a current Nurse Aide licensure in the state of Nebraska.

Technical assistant

The Technical Assistant assists various departments with support services of patient transport, environmental services, stocking, ordering supplies, and providers in various settings under the direct supervision of a licensed provider and/or Registered Nurse. The Technical Assistant will ensure adequate supplies are maintained. Individuals functioning as Technical Assistant should be capable of a level of self direction and supervision with what is commensurate with their training. No certification or license is needed.
